Hi all,

I am working on an economic dispatch and unit commitment problem with plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) integrated to a power system. I plan to test my model using the IEEE 24 bus RTS system. My issue is that the number PEVs I have in my model are simply not enough to cause any substantial effect on the original bus loads and generating set capacities used in the original test system which has an annual peak load of 2850 MW. In contrast, a typical PEV has load of about 70kwh which will make a total of 1000 vehicles still insignificant in a system with load of 2850MW.

Can I adjust the bus loads and generators capacity to something much lower so that the effect of including the EVs at buses in the test system can be more significant?

I see in several papers the authors referring to the IEEE bus systems in their studies as being modified. I just want to be sure I can modify the bus loads and generation capacities without tarnishing the integrity of the system.

NOTE: I am not modifying the nodal connections given in the IEEE 24 bus system. Just the loads and generator capacities.

Thanks
