I am looking for an interatomic potential which is reliable to model Gallium and Gallium Oxide behavior in various temperatures, if possible. Any suggestion would help.
Try the well established Lennard-Jones potential and model it's chosable parameters. Another approach can be to chose your own of the LJ form, say, the attraction is proportional to 12 and the repulsion is proportional to 9 or even use alternating series of various combinations of strengths (attr-rep strengths should be repetitive of 3, i.e. 12-9 or 12-6 as in LJ or 15-12 or 9-6 and in the series they should decrease by 1, say 12-6, 11-5, 10-4 and so on and can be truncated at any point)...you even can use the exponential form, but it won't be good enough for the asymmetric dipole-dipole systems...since the general form cannot exist.
