Going by the material found on the net it seems GreenCloud needs Ubuntu. Is there any way we can run it on windows 8.1 without any hassles like creating a partition for Ubuntu? Some safe way so that the data already present is not affected.
If you meant Green Cloud Simulator (http://greencloud.gforge.uni.lu/) then one way is to use the Virtual Machine (VM) instead. Download the VM from http://greencloud.gforge.uni.lu/vm.html. Use VirtualBox (https://www.virtualbox.org/) or VMware player (https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/free#desktop_end_user_computing/vmware_player/6_0) to run the VM. Both these products are free.
