"College of Engineering, Guindy established in 1794 by British colonialists as School of Survey, this institution is the oldest engineering school in India and is currently a constituent college of Anna University, Chennai. The school became the Civil Engineering School in 1858 and was then rechristened as College of Engineering in 1861."
Also,
"Thomason College of Civil Engineering, 1847, the oldest autonomous engineering school in Asia (now known as Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT R)), attained university status in 1949."
Sorry I misread your question: Actually the concept of 'electronics' is barely a hundred years old or so, and most of the electronics department were created as offshoot from the electrical departments in the universities and technical institutes.
"It is also the first institute of India to have started Electronics & Telecommunications engineering education in the country and the last educational institution set up by the British in India".
