According to Boddy, L. 2021 Fungi and trees, Ganoderma spp. do not cause tree death as it does not kill living tissue but only decays heartwood. I hva e no idea of an early detection technique for mortality caused by Ganoderma spp. I would rather like to ask you if you have a source that confirms that ganoderma spp. kill trees.

Yes, Ganoderma causes mortality in perennial trees in arid and semi-arid regions. We have couple of research articles for your references Wim Peeters
