about the fourth step :
1 - Generate a new solution by flying randomly
2 - if (rand < Ai & f(xi) < f(x∗))
3 - Accept the new solutions
4 - Increase ri and reduce Ai
on what basis we change the loudness Ai and the rate ri of pulse emission in bat algorithm (Increase ri and reduce Ai)

loudness Ai and rate ri are updated based on the proximity of the target (proimity to best solution) since they are updated only if the new solutions are enhanced.
The formula used is given in the attached image. you should determine the appropriate values for the two parameters alpha and gamma to fixe the speed of the increase and the descrease, respectively.
