AWK/Perl Script to get instataneous Packet Delivery/Loss Ratio from NS2?

Hi all, how can i get instantaneous PDR/PLR from NS2 for wireless networks? Should i caclculate the Average PDR each seconde? Or in an interval between 2 seconds?
