Anyone knows a tool, method, development method which might be used proactively to avoid the automation of Bias when developing intelligent algorithms?
But bias is NOT necessarily a bad thing, pending on designer's baseline... Should automation's reaching of a 'breaking' point be defined by non-auto means? That is the question, yes?
Dear Daniel Varona, Thank you very much for asking this very important question.
Question:
Artificial Intelligence and Bias Automation
this is a very important issue that requires scientific research.
In the light of the above, there were interesting considerations, answers and conclusions that may be an inspiration to continue research in this area.
It seems to me that it is good that there was a discussion in the question of this question. The answers given are very inspiring. Therefore, I am still reading the answers, following the interesting discussion.
The above discussion inspired me to the following considerations:
Will future Big Data database systems supported by artificial intelligence be used in precise forecasting in order to verify futurological projections?
Currently, it is difficult to define this type of analytic problem. The key issue is forecasting future global problems. It is necessary to collect additional analytical data over the next years, and perhaps in the 21st century, in huge Big Data database systems supported by another generation of artificial intelligence, it will be possible to predict what may happen to the planet Earth in the future.
In view of the above, the current question is: Will future Big Data database systems supported by artificial intelligence be used in precise forecasting for the verification of futurological projections?
Please, answer, comments. I invite you to the discussion.
What will be the potential uses of artificial intelligence in the future?
At present, the dominant opinion is that artificial intelligence will find many applications in IT, teleinformatics, internet new media, robotics, industrial automation etc. in the 21st century.
There are many potential applications. On the other hand, there are research concepts that there will not be one artificial intelligence but many different versions and levels of artificial intelligence.
In view of the above, the current question is: What will be the potential uses of artificial intelligence in the future?
Please, answer, comments. I invite you to the discussion.
I want to thanks all respondents for commit and taking some time to answer.
Mohamed-Mourad Lafifi> unfortunately I was only able to open one of the listed links, thanks for them although, the one I was able to read was very valuable.
Vinh T. Nguyen very appreciated the resources you shared, I can't stop reading all related materials, thank you so much.
s. Y Laird you are right and Bias is not nessesarily a bad thing, but in the context of AI algorithms providing stimated scenarios evolving humans, even desitions (whithin dignosis, law excecution...) it is without any doubt something to be concerned about. We are granting some sort of allmighty strengh to AI algorithms but we are failling identifying responsabilities when people gets hurt phisically or emotionally.
Dariusz Prokopowicz I recently published and article for Revista Occidente in spain locating that future you are referring to in your aswers in the present moment. I mean Driverless cars? Crime prevention using Face Recognition systems in some contries; just to mention some examples. I entirely agree with you this is a needed discussion; and truly believe "soft siences" such as philosofy should get involved into AI solutions. IBM its arising with a method called 360 degrees to prevent Bias in AI algorithms, or cleaning algorithms - putting in a more visual picture- but, if no other ethical nor moral related field of studies are involved then its just another reactive linear method.
Thank you all, again for taking some time and answer, all share resources were much appreciated.
