July was started with nearly 10.6 M total cases and around 7 million cases increased in a month to make it nearly17.5 million global cases at the end of July, 2020. USA is the epicenter and Latin America and India are other hot spots. Brazil and Mexico are tired to find out anymore larger graveyard. Peruvians are crying for oxygen. Indians don't find anymore empty bed in hospitals. Although Europe was considered as safe zone in July but unluckily the new outbreaks in Spain, Germany, Belgium are alarming. New outbreaks in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and China are almost similar to second waves of cases. Cases in Africa are rising gradually and South Africa has lost its control with huge number of COVID-19 patients.
I don't think Europe is safe. Even from the less affected areas people from critical areas arrived (on a tourist visit). October and November 2020 will be crucial to understand the pandemic trend.
Thanks dear Matteo Nioi and it was not safe rather considered as safe in comparison to others in June but now so many new outbreaks are seen almost every where in Europe.
In my opinion, the highest mortality is found at the first exposures or “waves“ for each people. Clearly, the weakest, the most careless, the most inattentive die first.
The attitude of governments and citizens that the pandemic has become part of the normal other public health issues without being mindful of it's adverse effects is one of the contributory variables to it's second wave. More sensitisation on preventive protocols is required while awaiting the discovery of a vaccine.

Africa surpasses 1 million cases of Covid-19

Africa has recorded more than 1 million Covid-19 cases, according to a CNN tally based on data from Johns Hopkins University.
As of early Friday morning, the continent has seen a total of 1,008,154 confirmed coronavirus infections.
South Africa accounts for more than half the continent’s reported cases, with 536,184 confirmed infections as of early Friday morning.
On Thursday, World Health Organization Regional Director for Africa Dr. Matshidiso Moeti warned that the lack of testing across Africa remains a "constant and concerning challenge."

India has surpassed 2 million cases of Covid-19

More than 2 million cases of Covid-19 have been identified in India since the pandemic began, authorities said.
India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said Friday morning that it had identified 62,538 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the nationwide total to 2,027,074. Of those, 41,585 patients have died while more than 1.3 million have recovered.

The world has now surpassed 19 million cases of Covid-19
More than 19 million cases of Covid-19 have now been diagnosed across the planet since the pandemic began late last year, according to a global tally by Johns Hopkins University.
Cases are spiking again in many countries. The United States, India and Brazil are the hardest hit nations and do not appear to be close to containing their outbreaks.

Record number of new Covid-19 cases reported to WHO in last 24 hours

There were 294,237 new Covid-19 cases reported to the World Health Organization in the last 24 hours, according to a situation report published Saturday. The total number of cases that have been reported to WHO from around the globe is now 21 million.
The rise in newly reported cases sets another record for cases reported to WHO within a 24-hour period. The previous record was set July 31 when 292,527 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.
Saturday's report noted there were 9,985 additional Covid-19 deaths reported to WHO in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths worldwide to 755,786.
