Yes, I am leading this initiative with UH colleagues and in collaboration with multiple native Hawaiian organizations, institutions and other universities.

Thank you for the constructive feedback. My hope is to organize Ike Ai in collaboration with other similar regional food system transformation initiatives (nationally and internationally) to forma a profession network of communities of practice so that we can co-learn as we roll out such large scale projects.

We were thinking of putting in a submission (University of Reading schools of agriculture, and food and nutrition) with ICRISAT, but sadly time ran away from us as there was rather delayed response to my message about the prize to the head of school.

I went through every one of the initiatives posted on the Food System Vision web page, and I have to say I though yours stood head and shoulders above most of them and is definitely among the cluster that I would expect to be seriously considered for a prize. We are now looking at other potential donors.

I'd very much like to follow Ike Ai, for both personal and professional reasons. I have worked in agriculture/food systems all of my life, and led a local and what became a very successful urban agriculture programme for a couple of decades and then volunteered in West Africa working with cocoa farmers before coming to the University.

Do let me know as soon as you have a web page or social media presence, and if you publish/post articles, progress updates and findings.
