Dear Yi and Giancarlo,

The concept is to estimate the aquifer vulnerability to nitrate pollution, in respect to the physical properties of the natural system (intrinsic vulnerability) and to the properties of the contaminant (nitrates) including the potential interactions with vadose zone and the ongoing geochemical processes (specific vulnerability). Each one of these pillars include several factors that need to be parametrized, ranked and finally combined in order to deliver a final outcome in terms of aquifer vulnerability.

I' ve recently noticed a paper (see Journal of Hydrology 503 (2013) 89–100) using Random Forest technique for a similar problem, and i was wondering if anyone can help to go some steps further in this scientific domain, as since now it is scarcely used in similar studies. If more details needed, please senf me an email.

I understand its a little bit late. My experty is data fusion in petroleum exploration. So, familiar with fuzzy integration methods, Bayesian classifier, clustering methods, Dempster-Shafer theory of evidences, ANN, etc.
