Obviously nothing is recorded as a written record! But there may be biogeographical clues and markers. However, there will also be a lot of assumptions. Remember to take into account the discrepancy between the reconstructed geologic temperature record and the reconstructed amount of incoming solar radiation :-)
I agree with my colleagues above. Nevertheless, there are some serious publications on history of climate change dynamics with clearly revealed periods of warming and cooling especially for the last 2000 years. Unfortunately these literature sources I know are in German and I hope you can translate them to your language by using Google translator (or maybe they are already translated to English):
