In work for the Educational Opportunity Program within SUNY at Buffalo State. We have a center of excellence (ACE), in which we hire students who are considered honor students due to their grade point average of 3.0 or higher in their areas of expertise (major or specialty). We call them academic mentors and they provide tutorial assistance to all students who are in need in different areas.
The mentors are certified and recognized by an Institute that approves their success in the trainings taken. Students who are recipients of the help mentioned improves their understanding and possibilities of becoming success students. Also, professors may identify students in their classes that are doing extraordinarily well as tutors for their classes and that provides an extra push to the students' success.
