If anthropogenic radio frequency electromagnetic fields are said to be possibly carcinogenic to humans, any reason to worry about the cumulative effect on the environment, biodiversity and humans of say 50.000 low earth orbit 5G Starlink satellites, along with the physical infrastructure of 5G small cells on land, added to already active 2G, 3G and 4G cell towers, ioT and wireless tech in general?
Anyone doing research on this?
The possible effects of the "possibly" carcinogenic EMF fields, under the well established thermal limits should be due to rare actual harm mechanisms, not known so far.
What can be argued is that these supposed effects should be effective even at very low field levels.
At such levels things are rather more complex than general public suspect since, only e.g.:
- 5G technology rely on large use of beam forming so that the actual field exposure in many areas and situations could be even lower than now;
- many other technologies, mainly for point to point data comunication are already using high frequencies at low power,
- therefore the actual number of exposed individuals, mainly among workers is higher than non specialists may suppose.
For this reason only very low effects, if any are expected, due to the increasing of the number of exosed subjects together with decreasing field levels.
